While you are using the phone, Call Waiting in [city], [state] signals you of a call coming in on that same phone line . You will hear a tone that continues at regular intervals until the call is answered or the caller hangs up.

Incoming callers will hear a standard ring and will not be aware that your line is in use.
Prior to making a call, Call Waiting can be deactivated on a per call basis simply by dialing a code. This feature is particularly useful if you are using your line to connect to the Internet or if you do not wish to be interrupted during a conversation. If you deactivate Call Waiting, incoming calls will hear a standard busy signal.
You may deactivate Call Waiting on a per-call basis at any time during a call if you subscribe to 3-Way Calling.
Caller ID on Call Waiting is available at some locations.
