How to configure your Actiontec DSL modem for static IP addresses

The instructions below are for customers who have a static IP (typically businesses.)  The IP Address, Gateway, and Subnet Mask you are asked to enter below should be provided in your account documentation.  If you do not have this information contact your Account Executive or call the DSL Helpdesk at 888-225-5837.

If you have an Actiontec model 701c or 724:

  1. Connect a computer directly to the modem via an Ethernet cable
  2. Open a browser and type 192.168.0.1 into the Address bar.
  3. Select Static IP "Routed"
  4. In the field for #1 - IP Address enter your WAN IP Address
  5. In the field for #2 - Gateway enter your WAN Gateway IP Address
  6. In the field for #3 - IP Address enter your LAN Default Gateway IP Address
  7. In the field for #4 - Subnet Mask enter 255.255.255.252
  8. Click Apply
  9. Click OK when prompted to restart the modem

If you have an Actiontec model 704 or 701:

  1. Connect a computer directly to the modem via an Ethernet cable
  2. Open a browser and type 192.168.0.1 into the Address bar.
  3. Click on Setup/Configuration
  4. Click on Static IP Address Setup
  5. In the field for #1 - IP Address enter your WAN IP Address
  6. In the field for #2 - Gateway enter your WAN Gateway IP Address
  7. In the field for #3 - IP Address enter your LAN Default Gateway IP Address
  8. In the field for #4 - Subnet Mask enter 255.255.255.252
  9. Click Save and Restart
