Understanding your first bill

The first billing of your TDS Internet account will seem to be rather high for three reasons:

  1. A one-time invoice surcharge is applied to the first billing. (For a further explanation on the invoice surcharge, please see the FAQ on invoice surcharges.)
  2. Depending on your account start date and billing cycle, a prorated amount from the previous month's service is billed to catch you up to your assigned billing cycle. (For further explanation on prorated charges, please see the FAQ on bill proration.)
  3. TDS Internet Services are billed a month in advance. For example, at the beginning of the month you may receive a bill from the first of that month to the first of the next month.
