TDS Email Upgrade - What to expect.
  1. Why is TDS email service being upgraded?
    We are upgrading our email service so that we can continue to provide our customers with reliable and cutting-edge email service. We partnered with Google because they are the industry leader when it comes to email and online collaboration.

  2. Will my email address change?
    No, your email address will stay the same.

  3. When will my email address be upgraded?
    Visit www.tdstelecom.com/email and enter your ZIP code to find out when your email address will be upgraded.

  4. Will my email service be interrupted?
    No interruption is anticipated.

  5. How will I know that my email address has been upgraded?
    This will depend on how you access your email. Please see the options below:
    • If you use an email client such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, etc.:
      When you check your email for the first time after the upgrade, you will see a message from TDS with upgrade instructions.
    • If you use Webmail from the TDS Home Page:
      When you log in for the first time after the upgrade, you will be asked to accept the Google Terms of Service and then you will be taken to your new and improved Inbox.

  6. What will happen to all of my messages and folders?
    This will depend on how you access your email. Please see the options below:
    • If you use an email client such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, etc.:
      All messages in your email program prior to the upgrade will be unaffected. All new messages will be delivered, as normal, after you update your email program settings.
    • If you use Webmail from the TDS Home Page:
      We will move all of your messages for you. Your folders will be converted into labels. Labels work the same way as folders, but with additional benefits. Learn more about labels.

  7. I use Outlook Express today, can I still use it after the upgrade?
    • Yes, you can continue to use email programs such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Apple Mail and Thunderbird. When we upgrade your email service, we will send you detailed instructions on how to update your email program.
    • However, we recommend you try out our new Web-based email service powered by Google. You can do this by going to the TDS Home Page and clicking "Check TDS Email".
