Get the most from your
broadband connection
Frustrated with your Internet connection? Whether you’re experiencing slow speeds or suddenly locked out of browsing the Web, it's maddening. But it doesn't have to be.
- Tip 1: If your connection "locks up" on a regular basis (e.g., from 8 to 11 p.m. every night), try adjusting or turning off the parental control function.
- Tip 2: Slow speeds? Try these four steps, wait five minutes, then do a speed test.
- Power cycle your modem (unplug the power cord to your modem, wait 5 minutes then plug it back in).
- Check your phones, fax machine, and home security system to be sure they all have filters.
- If your TV service uses a phone cord, be sure it has a filter.
- Make sure the phone cord going to the modem is not filtered.
If your speed hasn't improved, try another wall jack and phone cord. Still not improving? Contact the TDS Internet Services Technical Support team (24/7) at 1-888-815-5992; tell the analyst the steps you've taken and quickly, you'll be back to enjoying your dedicated connection.
