Keep garbage out of your computer

Computer viruses, spyware, and worms are all around us. While the number of harmful programs online continues to rise, TDS has implemented numerous security features. You can take extra steps, also, to minimize or eliminate damage to your computer.

  • Set filters—block emails that include popular virus file attachments such as EXE, COM, PIF, SCR, VBS, and BAT file types.
  • Set firewalls—computers connected to the outside world, including laptops and home networks, must have a firewall.
  • Patch it up—stay up-to-date with the latest software patches. Most software vendors, such as Microsoft, will provide links to patch security loopholes.
