Tailor Your Services to Meet Your Needs

With TDS phone service, it's easy to customize your voice mailbox to your liking. Here's how to get started:

If you are setting up your mailbox from the mailbox phone number (your home phone number):

  1. Dial *95

If you are setting up your mailbox from a telephone number that is not the mailbox phone number:

  1. Call TDS to request a temporary PIN ((888-225-5837, then follow the prompts and press 1 for Repair).
  2. Dial the TDS voice mail number (608-845-1234).
  3. When prompted, enter your 10-digit mailbox telephone number, then the temporary PIN.

Once you are in the voice mail system, the system tutorial will walk you through a set up of:

  1. A unique PIN.
  2. A name recording.
  3. A greeting recording.

To protect your privacy, your PIN must meet the following security rules:

  • Your PIN must be at least 5 digits long.
  • Your PIN should not include your telephone number (or extension).
  • Your PIN cannot be a consecutive ascending or descending numeric sequence (i.e., 12345, 54321).
  • Your PIN cannot be a repeating sequence (i.e., 12121).
  • Your PIN cannot have a single digit repeated more than two times in a row (i.e., 11111).

Note: after you set up your mailbox for the first time and dial in from the mailbox telephone number, you will be prompted immediately to enter your PIN.
